LONDON-BASED Greek controlled Lomar Shipping has continued to be active on the containership sell side as it shifts its fleet towards bulk carriers and chemical tankers.
The diversified shipowner of Libra Group has seen four boxships exit the fleet bringing in nearly US$39 million, reports Singapore's Splash 247.
The 2002-built, Panamax 3,237 TEU sister vessels Velika Express and Mirador Express estimated as worth $9.5 million each, together with the 2005-built 5,047 TEU OOCL St Lawrence, worth $15.8 million have all been delivered to clients of Greece's Conbulk Shipmanagement.
The 2005 Nanjing Jinling shipyard-built 1,118 TEU feeder boxship Hamburg Trader, worth around $7 million, has also been delivered to an unnamed owner while positioned in Kingston, Jamaica, the company said.
The Nicholas Georgiou-led Lomar has been growing its footprint in the chemical tanker sector, most notably with the acquisition of Bremen-based Carl Buttner, while also adding several second-hand bulk carriers.
Earlier this year, Lomar revealed a trio of supramax bulker buys, its first since early 2022, estimated at nearly $43 million.
