FIRE broke out on a vessel southeast of the Yemeni port city of Aden, triggered by nearby explosions, reports Reuters.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency, along with British security firm Ambrey, confirmed the incident, which was subsequently brought under control.
"The master reports the fire onboard has been extinguished and that the crew are all safe. Coalition Forces are responding," said UKMTO.
Subsequently, it was stated that the vessel had moved away from the vicinity and was en route to its next destination port.
According to British maritime agencies, the initial explosion occurred at a distance from the vessel.
A second explosion caused damage onboard, resulting in a fire that the crew is currently managing.
