CMA CGM is relaunching the INDAMEX shipping line to accommodate increased demand between the Indian subcontinent and/or all major US East Coast destinations, reports London's Port Technology.

According to CMA CGM, the relaunch of INDAMEX includes weekly fixed-day sailings with 8,500-TEU vessels.

The French shipping carrier said it'll be using both ex/in India (Nhava Sheva) and US (New York) CMA Terminals dedicated assets with dedicated windows (berth on arrival, full priority 52 weeks per year).

This unprecedented move will keep CMA CGM capacity on a high-demand route.

The INDAMEX will have a roundtrip rotation every 77 days via the Cape of Good Hope between Port Qasim, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston, and back to ISC.

The service will launch on August 15 from Port Qasim with the APL Southampton.

The launch of this new service highlights CMA CGM's capacity to quickly adjust its offers to suit client demand and assist them in managing their supply chains in the face of interruptions on important maritime routes, the carrier said.

In May, CMA CGM introduced a new weekly service devoted to West Coast Central America.
